Factory Girl

On a lunch break at work. I have some time to convince a co worker to travel to the other side of the office with me. As it turns out, my job has a pretty immense working space that is primarily vacant.
I found this silk dress at a secondhand store in town. I love how it breathes, especially considering that the weather is getting warmer. Matching that up with shoes I’ve already featured on my blog and this animal print bracelet gives a little fierceness to my outfit.

Lulu Adores: Alan, 26

A look into blue collar American industry. Fashion doesn’t necessarily have to be on the busy city streets, but can translate from any medium, as long as the person knows how to wear it. I caught statuesque Alan while on coffee break, asked him a few questions about the type of work he does and the regular attire he wears to the workplace.

Just as popular as the celebrities we have seen, Alan enjoys wearing worn in band tee shirts. Matching with denim slim fit jeans, he’s works with metal and parties to metal.

I was really intrigued by his single feather earring. Easy to blend into the color of his long hair, this feather earring is about a light as the real thing. Cut from Lucite, he expressed how easy it is to wear the single earring and add a little something extra to his edgy appeal.

I’d Do Anything For Love

But seriously? I won’t do that. Ok, I’m just kidding. My graphic tee shirt library has defiantly shrunken down in the past couple of years, but I kept a few that I knew I would want to have for years to come. Possibly pass along to my kids? Too soon. I wound up finding this great little golf net nook that I thought gave the scene a fake plastic tree accent with the western rocker look. This wrap ring also plays into the “Metal” look, a simple, comfortable ring that is unique but not bulky.

Mars Attacks

The Earth is invaded by Martians with irresistible charm and a cruel sense of style. I landed and invaded Runway 4.0, along side my bombshell babe space cadet friends, working the catwalk with a line done by upcoming designer Jenny Scoma. Her theme of the designs was really “out of this world”? Too corny, I know, but I was really into the cut of the designs, extenuated features of each piece and the stitch by stitch that was executed to perfection. My wonderful boyfriend took me to see Another Earth this weekend at a local film festival. Really great idea of the discovery of a duplicate planet Earth and it was executed with wonderful visual effects and cinematography. Truly a thought provoking piece, since I have no idea what I would do if I was to encounter another me.

Bow and Arrow

Traditional bee hive or Harajuku hair? I might have been in a fashion show recently, pictures to come soon, in which I was defiantly rocking the Dusty Springfield hive. The morning after is much more fun though, with a big poof of cotton candy on your head and last nights make up. Featuring my boyfriend’s bow tie and finally my selection of the Crosby frames from Warby Parker. Nothing fits better then a chambray shirt like this Ralph Lauren traditional oxford with epaulets, I have such a soft spot for them.

Goldilocks

Golden oldie, but a goodie. I love the look of gold, especially on dark clothing. It’s a great finish on any outfit and from plastic beads to a vintage piece, such as this lovely golden tie provided by a dear friend of Sweet & Dirty. She’s an ultimate hustler and has a divine aptitude in fashion. Many props to Mama Dirty for the golden tie gift.

To The Maxi

Not a new trend in the least, but a great friend found this awesome two piece retro maxi skirt and vest set while doing some vintage shopping of her own. It’s great that this particular skirt really adds some shape instead of just being a frumpy potato sack around my waist. Pairing it with a nude oxford allowed the structure of the garment to curve my figure. I had some extra time today to construct a couple new melodies and chords for my band.
